A reminder from the people who know what it's like....

A heartbreaking, but rather wonderfully put together video from Sgt. Harry Tangye based on a blog post he wrote called 'A diverson from my everyday life.'

When I put content together for this blog, primary in my mind is how much I love driving and cars. There is nothing like being behind the wheel of a car you really love, but sometimes I think it is so important to take a moment to remember the people who deal with things when everything goes wrong.

Attending press events, driving a different car every few weeks on loan to review and writing about the amount of freedom a car can give you, it is so, so easy to become blasé about quite how dangerous driving can be.

We become accustomed to thinking that cars are only dangerous when they are in the hands of 'the wrong people,' who have been drinking, or take excessive risks. But that's not quite the point - the fact is it really can happen to anyone.

I took a lot from the video - don't see it as a way of ramming a message down your throat - but instead see it as a way of saying thank you to the people who do their very best, no matter what we say, to try to make our roads as safe as they possibly can be.

And also, I know a few people in the police who are as big a car fans as I am, and probably know a lot more about them, so that speaks for itself I think....

Thank you Sgt. Tangye and the Learn2Live campaign for sharing this.
