As you'll know, Scania are still a huge manufacturer, and most vans, artics, fire engines and buses are made by Scania - or if not have something to thank them for.
But the world turns and evolves, and although many people would imagine the world of commercial haulage is a fairly antiquated one, this actually couldn't be further from the truth. The logistics and transport industry is actually one of the most advanced in the world, and in this connected world it makes perfect sense to use this knowledge about tech to help people both in the office and on the road.
Smart wristwatches have been growing in popularity in recent years, and cleverly Scania has spotted an opportunity to use this escalating market to help people whose timekeeping needs to be a fine art.

The Scania wristwatch has been developed in conjunction with Sony, and connects to a driver's truck to provide instant information about average speed, driving efficiency, fuel consumption as well as text messages, emails and notifications pertinent to the job - vital for the commercial driver and staying one step ahead of the game whilst spending long periods of the day and night on the road.
According to the press release, it is hoped that future versions will include functions such as providing information on the driver’s pulse rate and other health-and-safety-related services for drivers. Watch the video for more information about the Scania Watch!
