The Lovely CX is 40 Years Old - Here's What it Gave the World

The Citroen CX is officially 40 years old. This milestone is impressive in the sense that I think the CX managed to be one of the first cars to kindle my love of the Gallic. It still looks like a stunning car. Here's a few things the CX gave the world:

- First Citroen car to be launched with a diesel engine
- Aerodynamic expertise for increased MPG in the wake of the 1970s oil crisis.
- Was the first accessible consumer car with built in power operated self-centring steering.
- The first French car to be fitted with ABS.
